    Default Peaceful brothers

A couple of peaceful brothers for once, as the one in the BKG seemed incredibly 'hyper' and continually wanted to play from morning to dusk with his older brothers & sisters. These two were gazing, as the watch the two adult females grooming each other. I cropped in a bit more than I normally would do on the LH side to lose one of the other cubs heads, who was also laying down in the grass. Shot late afternoon in a bit of shade.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Hi Steve - You handled the dappled light well. Nice detail as usual. I'm curious if you went for any with more dof to have both cubs' heads sharp. Given the low ISO you could have cranked it up a bit to get more dof.

    Rachel

My error Rachel, techs should have read ISO4000, and not 400. I think you would have to go quite some way to get both in, although for a hoot, I have shot 25k, with acceptable results, although not print IQ!!!

Perhaps not the best choice in taking a new body start off without having a solid two week window for testing and then handing it back to Canon for refining, but I have to say, it is a 'game changer' in all senses of the word and wether you use DPP or LR/PS (latest versions of CC) the file process is superb!!!

Very nicely seen and captured Steve. I like the fact that they are looking in the same direction and the crop works well. TFS.

Nice symmetry in their poses, and the soft tones work well
Perhaps just needs a hint more midtone contrast to tease out some pop in the cubs, Steve?

Hi Steve -- Like the others i too liked the way they are starring in the same direction with the soft light in play . Very nice IQ for iso 4000 .

    Dearest Steve,

You made my evening with those two young lions. And I cannot take my eyes of the little one at the back, with that quizzical look on his face and those pursed lips - I can just imagine what he's thinking:)

Composition spot on. Beautiful detail and the colours are great. What I like most is that you managed to capture loads of expression from both characters: so much concentration and playfulness!

Not sure your Canon needs refining? This looks great to me, techs and all. Well processed and presented, as expected from you.

I really miss my lions. I recently saw a few in the Park nearby but gave up after a long wait, they were busy watching a buffalo herd but their tummies were full, so no action. Maybe next time.

Thank you so much for sharing, Steve. You motivate me to pick up that camera again

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
