It's been said that a buffalo bull looks at you like you owe him money. Well, let me tell you, when I spent a few minutes one winter's morning in June all alone with this dude on the Mphongolo road in northern Kruger, I was fumbling for my wallet and my vehicle just before he walked away :)

Well taken shot. Love the amber back lighting. Definitely adds to the ambiance as does the choice to leave the glare in the shot. If there was no crop on this you were way too close in my mind. Very nice of him to not charge. Glad you made it out unscathed.

Hi Morkel - I like the light here with just enough detail on the buffalo. He looks a bit grumpy and the foliage hanging from the horn adds to that feeling. Maybe a little tight at the top but not a deal breaker.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Had to rotate a tad as well, in hindsight. Hard to focus on perceived horizon when this dude glares at you through the viewfinder LOL

Love the light here Morkel, perhaps it just needs a bit of Curves tweak to help separate the 3/4 tones??? Detail/clarity looks just on the cusp being perhaps at f/5?

Love the title here mate, and the hanging foliage across the left side (as viewed) adds interest to the overall lighting and mood.

Steve, which part of the curve does one adjust for 3/4 tones? I mostly use the levels with varying contrast layers based on luminosity.
