Just in from 10 spectacular days with the loons in MI. The first pair of chicks hatched within hours of the first morning session on the lake, with the second pair hatching only 5 days later.
We were all in loon heaven!!!! :)

With constantly changing background tonalities incident metering once again proved the ticket.

    IDS Mark III, 600IS w/ 1.4x
Manual, incident,1/500 @ f/5.6, ISO 800 w/ high-ISO noise reduction on. Note-turning on high-ISO noise reduction significantly reduces the buffer.

    This is TOO cute :)

Wish we can get there sometime, it sounds like paradise!

Only wish for a head turn you way, as I'm sure you do too ;)

Great to get there at the right timing too!

That is perfect! Waiting for eggs to hatch at a secret spot in VT - thanks for getting me excited about next week! Bob

Cute little feller, Chas. The whites in the water really pull my eye away from him though....
