    Default Young Woodpecker feeding cherry

Today I found this Youngster of a Great Spotted Woodpecker (see the beautiful red cap that only the young birds have!) feeding on cherrys. :D
He did use a small hole to fix the cherry and eat small pieces of it.
The tree has got a red colour from all the cherrys he has been feeding before.

Very sweet encounter, Rosl, nice and sharp. About the compo, the perch takes about the right space, 1/3 of the frame. You have a lot of negative space to the right, but pointing the camera to the eeft would have given you too much perch. Still think you could do with a little less on the right.

I had no idea woodpeckers are interested in cherries. I agree with Fabs regarding the crop. Thanks for sharing!
