Another cutie from up north, in Iceland last month. Thought about taking the TC off as he approached me hugging close to the reeds and grassy shore line. Occasionally he would dart into the open, but just as quickly head back to the shore. I had to poke my lens through the tall grasses, and I'm sure a few inches more and I'd be in the drink with the chick. No time to take the TC off, had the presence of mind to switch to FULL on the lens to get this image. C&C welcome.

    D4S, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/2500s, f 6.3, ISO 2500, 95% of ff, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

It is a cute one, and that baby blue/grey eye quite neat. Although skewed, I do like the bit of leg showing underneath the water. I realize a lower angle was not possible so I will not comment on that. Critical focus does not appear to be on the face of this little guy - parts of the body appearing sharper.

What a cutie Geoffrey. As Dan said the critical focus appears to be on the body. I would try and sharpen the head area a little

High on the cuteness scale for sure. I like the eye and the water drops. Head might be a bit sharper.

Thanks Daniel, William, and Bill and for suggesting a bit more sharpening in the head area. I added a bit more selectively.
