Snowy Egret. Image made with a Canon 7DII and Tamron 70-300VC @ 300mm. 1/320 @ f8 - ISO 2500. This was shot in deep shade at a thickly populated and heavily wooded local rookery with Great, Snowy, and Cattle Egrets as well as Night Herons. The rookery is in a less populated part of Oklahoma City but very near an apartment complex which seems willing (or eager) to tolerate the presence of so many birds.

It's a pretty nice subject in a lush-looking leafy habitat. The cut-off feet, and the bright highlights on some of the leaves at left are two problems that weaken the image. Going to vertical may have helped with one, or both of these issues. Another option is hoping for closer opportunities for tighter portraits. Glad to hear of a potentially thriving rookery in your parts.
