This young individual is happy to show what helps make it the world's largest species of tern: a 50" wingspan. The wide and thin pose screamed for a pano crop...
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/4000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, an oof gull removed between the wing to our right and the frame's edge. Hard to see as posted, but a catchlight added on the eye to our left.
Pano crop is the way for sure in this case. Nice exposure, PP work and all. Very impressive wing span and a super moment captured. I just wish to see it bigger. Well done.
