A pretty rare Bird ,mainly confined to Sotland and Northern England and not muched photographed.
I have known from my previous walks in the area that their was a small colony of these birds high up on the grassy moorlands from were i live.
It is a 2 hour walk to the area due to having to go the long way round due to a lot of deep quarry work thats out of bounds .
Anyway last night was a recky for the birds and this morning i set off in hope of shots as the light is to my advantage before mid day .
These are very nervous birds so camo and being hidden is a must .
i got a few shots but this is my favorite ,a slight crop from the right to remove some of the rock ,PP in LR and PS .

Congratulations! What fun to get a rarity. Nice pose, good light and detail, with simple bg. Good choice to crop out some of the oof rock, so what remains is not too distracting. I don't know the bird. Is it in intermediate plumage as shown here?
Just to update,i have posted the wrong image(such a long day)this is a Linnet .
I do have shots of the Twite and will post later rater than remove this image
