Captured this image at Lake Myvatn, Iceland last month. An adult male was informing us that we should keep our distance, because he had young ones in the vicinity. C&C welcome.

Hi Geoff, good low shooting angle, and well timed to capture the calling pose with the open beak. If we are going to capture our subjects in their enviroment, we must accept their surroundings as they present themselves.

Geoff it must have been great to photograph these birds on there breeding grounds, couple of blades of grass are not a problem for me it makes for a very natural shot of this fine looking Wader in it's habitat, calling pose tops it off nicely.

Good calling pose, and the warm colours of the godwit go really well off the greens of the habitat. The two grass blades crossing the bill are a bit unfortunate IMO, but that is part of the surroundings.

Hi Geoffrey, A lovely calling pose in natural habitat, looks great and i like some of the vegetation in focus, some not... exposure is spot on and really shows the wonderful colors of this bird. nicely done.

Great calling pose and nice habitat. I probably would have removed the two blades of grass that cross the bill, but they certainly don't deter from a handsome shot of this handsome bird. Although we stayed right on the road, he wasn't too crazy about our being there, as he is showing.
