    Default red-necked phalarope (m)

This male was found in a small pool of water in a marshy, boggy habitat along with a flock of five or six other phalaropes. There was one female but she chose to stay in the vegetation along the water's edge, where she was heavily shadowed. I chose the placement of the bird to include the rippled water and the trail of soft ripples reflecting in the right side BG. Removed a 2nd catchlight and removed a few minuscule flecs of debris in the water.

Even though he's motoring along it is a very calming image, Ann. I like the light a lot and I see why you like the ripples reflecting in the BG. Their beautiful.

Hi Ann, lovely angled swimming pose, sharp, and I like the feather detail. I do like the colour of the water, and the ' brush strokes' effect of the water in the URC.

Perfect head angle, and I love the textures in the water. One element that is crucial to the success of the unconventional comp is the darker area at top right.

A lovely shot, and I certainly like your choice of comp. The water is an important element in it's success. I might be tempted to try a slight saturation boost to the bird.

Pretty cool Ann. I like the detail and colours on the bird. Lovely HA and the water and reflection looks good. Very nice.
