    Default Frog-scape from Horseshoe lake

A large female Bullfrog photographed in a wetland on Horseshoe Lake near Parry Sound, Ontario as a storm was approaching. To capture this frog-scape I used a Laowa 15mm f4 1:1 Macro Lens. As I usually do I photographed this scene from my canoe using the Live View feature and hand-holding the camera just above the water's surface. For this scene the frog's head was roughly two inches from the front element of the lens - the lens will focus as close as 4.7mm from the front element!

    Looking forward to comments.

Hi Andrew, I've been waiting for a very long time for you to post one of these, as you have been tempting me for some time now.

As I have said before, I feel your landscape eye comes into play here with a gorgeous 'Frogscape' image. Retaining the environment is oh so key here and it just elevates the whole image. Cool skill set shooting from a canoe and with such a lens too, but to great effect.

I think it's an optical illusion, but does it need a slight CCW rotation???

Thanks for posting this, a pleasure to view.

    Steve

Top notch, Andrew, as said above. Love the placement of the lily flowers as well.
I do agree with Steve, slight CCW even if it's to correct an optical illusion?

Hi Andrew - I love your frogscapes and this is no exception. The flowers add for me. I also think it may need a slight rotation. Hope to see more soon.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Hello Andrew,
I have been waiting a very long time to see another Frogscape, so thank you

A few months ago I tried to take some frog images at my garden pond but no success - as soon as I went in the frogs went under, never to return. The little fish (swords and tilapia) soon started nibbling at my hands and feet, so I gave up:)

Love the perspective and the colours are fantastic. Sharpness is great, detail is there where needed. Well composed and I love the inclusion of environment - it all comes together so nicely - superb frame, and I say this with a tinge of jealousy

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Coming from an underwater photographers perspective I absolutely love to see close focus wide angle shots - they are a big part of U/W shooting, so to see one done so well above the water is very pleasing to me.

The BG is just as important as the subject in these types of shots, so having the 2 flowers position as they are works well.

    Excellent work.

Super shot Andrew - even better than your snake! I too sense a little anticlockwise rotation is needed.
