it was an afternoon at the wetlands with really nice filtered light when this Night Heron came cruising by.

Never taken a decent shot of a flying bird myself, this looks very good to me with plenty of detail on the bird ,colours look very natural, nice job.

Nice job getting this guy in flight Tim. The filtered light really helped with the lack of harsh shadows and the details and BG look nice too. Maybe just a little looser comp? Love that red eye. Well done

    Well done!
I really like the hint of cloud in the BG.
For my taste I would like a looser crop or perhaps a bit more room in front and bottom.
    Excellent IQ, great feather detail.

Nice flight capture with good exposure and detail. I agree it feels a bit tight to me.

Yes to a looser crop, and perhaps a better HA too, but I love the feather detail and the beautiful colours. Great looking eye. The subtle variation in the BG adds interest too.

Thanks Dave, I would have to add more real estate for room, this guy was a close flyer

A vote for more canvas here as well, but I think all else looks real good. Well done Tim. Lovely image with nice colours throughout.
