This is another image of this rare bird I photographed earlier this year at Cairngorm in Scotland. Only 30 pairs are known to nest in UK. All in the Cairngorm area. This male has just past his best breeding plumage, but still a lovely looking Grebe. Must get there earlier next year.

It's a cracking looking bird Will and your shot shows it off very well, lovely detail ,bow wave and the water droplets add a lot to this image.

Love the earthy tones of this bird and shown off well here with good detail. Perhaps a little dodging around the face and eye would be worth a try.

Details look very nice on this guy. So jealous of how you got so close. In New York you can't get within 100 feet of these guys. Everything looks great to me. The water droplets, the moving water and the colors of the bird are just right and not over saturated. Very nice.

Very nice! Perfect head angle, and I love the smooth gliding action implied. I agree in lightening the face and eye, but all else is A-1 to me.

Super dooper Will great detail and lovely colours/exposure, a fine capture in deed. I got a pic of one of these when in Mull about ten years ago and I haven't seen one since!
