A bit about me: I grew up and currently live in upstate NY about 40 minutes west of Albany. I work for our state conservation department full time, am married, and have two young children (5 year old and 7 month old). Between work and family I don't get to shoot wildlife and birds as much as I would like (which would be every day in my ideal world), but I try to get out at least once or twice a week. I've had an interest in photography probably from around the time I was 10 or so, some 25+ years ago, when I learned to shoot with an old Pentax film body that belonged to my parents. I got more serious when I bought my first DSLR (a canon 40D) in 2008 and have worked hard to improve my skills and technique since then. Within the past year I've been able to acquire some long sought-after glass in the 600 IS II and 300 IS and these have pushed me to enhance my abilities even further. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a member of this forum.
