This is one heck of a frame! Talk about good timing. That eye did it, and love the way the body is angled and the tail feathers splayed. Had another gannet dived just next to this one? I ask b/c it doesn't appear as though the splash was generated by this gannet.

Marina glad you liked it. There is at least one gannet beneath this one, I get a hint of one going north and one situated south east.

Super interesting frame Jonathan! Difficult to get the timing right on this one. Really like the eye contact and the sense of action.

Yuppers, the eye does it. And that wing just in the water. Great job with EXP and SH too.

I really like your excellent timing! Great tail and feet positions as well.
I wish the splash wasn't so prominent but love the hint of underwater gannets!
    Very nice,
    Gail

Well done Jon. Another Gannet captured at the perfect moment. A split second later and the eye would be under water.

    Nice one

Very cool Jon. I like the eye for sure and the details and exposure look perfect. I'm with Gail on the splash from the other bird but still a great capture. Well done
