Hi Andrew nice frog shot, I adjusted the curves a bit to give some pop to the image and added a small bit of selective sharpening.

Tim's repost is a very big improvement, the original was dark. Tim tried to sharpen it but it's still not quite tack sharp. My guess is that the RAW file was again soft. Unfortunately until you figure out and solve the sharpness issue with your gear or technique the images will not come out as great as they should

It also looks like you went way overboard with all of those LR sliders, I think it's making it worse. what was the RAW capture like and why did you have to do so many adjustments?

I'm really frustrated with my home PC monitor. It's making everything look OK at home, but when you guys see it (and I on my work PC) it's too dark. I know I need a new monitor (new PC as well); just have to save up for it ...

Andrew, you could try to calibrate your monitor like myself and others using various calibration tools such as Spyder, X-Rite, & etc.
Usually if it looks ok at home and too dark everywhere else your monitor at home is set to bright.

    AP,

The LR sliders don't look right. Highlights to the right and shadows to the left are opposites to what we normally do. Is that a typo?

Adhika: No, I posted them correct. But once again, I think my monitor is the culprit. I made Exposure too dark, which caused me to overcompensate with all the other LR sliders.

This weekend I hope to take some pictures from my tripod to see if my HH technique is a major culprit for some of the softness. If tripod pics seem similar in sharpness to my HH shots (not tack sharp), I can look at my Tamron lens and start to see if I can make any changes there.
