    First time I had seen these sparrows while hiking in the Anza Borrego desert a few years ago.

    Tim the bird and pose are great but the out of focus foreground ruins this one for me. You don't have clean shots of these guys ? One of the easier birds to get clean shots of in the desert they are very responsive to audio calls

    Hi James yes I do have many "clean" shots of these guys, I picked this one especially for the OOF foreground I kinda liked it

    I like where you were going with this, I just wish that FG was thinner, more uniform and "cloudier" if that makes sense? Handsome subject, and a neat perch. Vertical comp works well. Good BG too.

    I like your use of the ZOOF foreground Tim. I think it works here although I find if I try with flowers it is usually just distracting. I wonder if lightening up the darker bits in that FG would be helpful?

    Hi tim, I like your image, and appreciate the habitat. I would only suggestion less of the oof cactus, i like the color palette and such sharpness on the sparrow. well done. I was able to see my lifers for this species last April in South Texas, really enjoyed them.
