    I took this image by the garden pond. I placed this branch at a convenient distance and managed to get some images of a Brown hawker but the background was too distracting. For this one instead of going down to water level I place the camera on a tripod so it was about 10 inches above water level, this provided me with the clear background devoid of leaves and their reflections.

    Hi Jon,
    Nicely captured behavioral shot. Fine sharpness on the head, thorax, and upper abdomen. I like the BG also. I might try cropping out all or part of the greenish oof material in the foreground. Nice work.

    Great subject and background--nice work getting it. The foreground is a bit distracting, so either cropping or some work in post to reduce the brightness and sharpness of it might help.

    Ron you read my mind - that is precisely what I did do!..... Maybe consider some more.
