    Default Miner on Coffee

Noisy miner on a coffee tree branch.

Unexpected landing of this little bird, and I was not prepared.

Basic adjustments in ACR. In PS - Cropped from horizontal. I would have cropped more from the top to align the stick to the corner, but thought it looked just a bit too square. Cloned out another branch on LHS and some brighter spots.

Hi Glennie, what good looking bird on a good looking perch. IQ seems a bit compromised, feathers lack definition, flat, any thoughts? TFS, Ann

Thanks Ann. Maybe I should not have had that last sip of the red wine! I'm thinking the size of the crop? I didn't add any contrast in ACR. I've just increased it now, and it seems a bit better.

I think the pose, the perch and the background are great. Also a crazy cool looking bird. Agree it looks a tiny bit flat and could maybe use a little more contrast. Really lovely picture.

love the pose and the perch Glennie with the diagonal composition. The IQ isn't great as noted, it looks to me as the RAW wasn't quite sharp. everything else looks pretty good thoug

The pose, perch, BG and exposure all look great. I agree on the details but check the RAW and see if it is tack sharp or not. You know I love these coffee bean perches. They add so much color and interest. Well done

Great looking perch, pose, and bird. I agree with the comments above. If there is additional sharpness to be had in the file, maybe just a touch more of selective sharpening would help.
