Hi John, a bit too centrally placed here I feel, therefore loosing some from the RHS would be better based on, as presented, but also you need more image content below, do you have any more? Perhaps shooting vertical too may have created other opportunities, although you might be endanger of clipping any of the legs, so perhaps this was the right route? Techs look good, but personally I might have tried to squeak a bit more SS to freeze the action.

Just as an alternative I have gone a bit cooler and I think you can afford to drop the exposure by a third, easier to darken than lighten. You were there so have a better feel for colour, so I just wonder if you could go a bit richer in the depth, but you need to apply more sharpening to get the clarity and detail. Again, reworking the raw will bring far more out, just a thought.

    TFS
    Steve

Some great action here. I like everything but the fence in BG... Doesn't' seem to fit with wild mustangs?

Thanks Steve. No more canvas on the bottom unfortunately. Definitely could have used a faster SS. Definitely could have lowered the exposure. I tried the crop about where you have it and it didn't work for my eye, but with the darker exposure is looks better? Definitely too little sharpening.

Thank you. I bounce back and forth on removal of man made objects.

Hi John - Steve summed up my initial thoughts as well especially about tone, ss and a bit more room below. His rp takes it where it needs to go. It can be very tough to frame sparring animals due to the movement as they fight. You did well here by shooting a bit wider than needed.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi John -- I am really enjoying your Posts , always something new to it . You have done well in capturing the moment , very nicely timed .

I agree with the above comments especially Steve's RP is line with how should it look and that fence is certainly not adding any to the image , if your ethics permit then you should clone it out .

    TFS !

Hi Hasseb, it's only my interpretation and possible thoughts/direction, not a definitive answer.

    Thank you,

I am trying to shoot a larger frame when possible to give composition options.

Cool action here! I do agree about the fence, and I think Steve's repost has taken it up a notch tonally?
