    Default red-throated diver

This was a memorable evening shooting in Iceland where there was a small pond and at one time it contained about twenty divers. The behavioral interactions we witnessed were spectacular and the light did not disappoint. Here, this diver is landing and will continue on his belly...

    Ann:

Outstanding capture, as I know well, not easy to catch these guys landing. Nice background, excellent pose/angle.

They land slightly differently from the common loons, so fun to see.

White patch on upper breast could be toned down a bit.

    Look forward to more.

You know I love this one! Nice and sharp with great light and a great BG.
No nits from me other than taming the whites as Randy mentioned.
I could also see aversion with a crop from the bottom to make a true pano.

Ann, I really like the position of the RTD just above the water, great wing and head positions, and the splashing water conveys the landing so well. Terrific eye-level POV against a pleasant BG. Very well done. :-)

Beautiful timing, Ann. Perfect landing stance, great wing position, and rich BG.

Wonderful capture, getting just the moment before touchdown. Beautiful light and colors. Must have been a treat to watch.

Very, very, very cool:). Make me think of the stones you used to throw into lakes when I was a kid...bouncing on the water. Perfect wing position for me, head turned up and the reflection of the water on the body. I just love it!

This image has your "stamp" all over it! Beautiful bird in beautiful light. The vibrant BG is lovely. I like the way the bird is skimming just across the top of the water.

Ann, this is terrific. I am also thinking about losing a sliver from the bottom. Everything else is great!

Killer pose you captured here and what amazing light! Agree you might like this even better with a little off of the bottom. I generally keep a splash much less sharpened than my bird but, in this case, I might consider sharpening the splash a little more b/c it's such an important element of your image.
