Default Bald Eagle Female in Flight

The female half of a local nest I've been documenting this year as she was stretching her wings after being on guard at the nest.

I know that bald eagles are a dime a dozen in Florida, but up here in New England, they are still not all that common.

    Nikon D300, 500 AFSVR and TC14EII converter. ISO 640.

    Dime a dozen?????

Well, I didn't get my dime the last time they handed them out :)

Nice pose with good detail in the head and feathers. There's a little cluster of hot pixels in the head, easy to fix. Love the eye contact!

Great banking pose and the open beak adds to it. I would crop a bit off the top and bottom.

Only in certain areas of Florida will you find the ABE, Jim. Wouldn't change a thing.
