    Club tailed Dragonfly newly emerged. Quite an un common species but plentuiful around here on the River Severn

    Hi John,
    I like this image as a little different in concept from what we normally see posted here for dragonflies - not the classic oof smooth BG but rather a view of the bug's entire habitat including pond and distant shore - really gives the image a sense of place and you know where this guy lives. The image seems to be backlit - illuminating the leaf and showing some nice details there. Nits I see are some blown out areas on the dragonfly and some lack of detail on the darker areas especially the abdomen. I also notice some lens flare in upper right.

    Cheers Allen. Can see your points. The light was at a hard angle which is what I wanted really. You can see by the leaf. Fill flash would have helped maybe..
    Got plenty od "conventional" ones so no big deal I did it really to use in talks on the river severn.
