    Hi Jon,
    Nice tones on the plant and BG and critical focus on upper part of plant where it should be. Losing DOF on the lower part of plant doesn't bother me too much - did you also try a narrower aperture and slower SS? 1/2000s is what I sometimes go to for BIF but then again f7.1 did give you a nice BG. A very fine image either way.

    You got it Allen, yes I did try different apertures , it was quite striking, this one gave a muted background, any smaller and it quickly became distracting. I chose the fast shutter speed to ensure the image was sharp, I suppose I could have gone for less but I was confident IQ would be OK.
