A very nice image indeed, do I see lots of mozzies in the background?
I like the colours I wasn't there but I do wonder if they are a little OTT - saturated? Please correct me if I am wrong (I appear to be having some issues with colour recently despite having a fully calibrated and tested screen)
The poses of the cubs are so appealing I bet butter wouldn't melt!

Hi Dale - Great light and love the looks they are all giving. The water off the mom adds interest but unfortunately also blocks the second cub a bit. Nature is just a tease, it never fully cooperates. The colors do look a bit saturated but not a deal breaker for me. I like the wave across the fg. I hope to see more from your trip.

    Rachel

Hi Dale -- A lovely moment and scene ! The image doesn't appear to me as of your usual high quality images but nonetheless it is a nice image . Looks a bit lost on details and the colours appear to be very saturated .

I'm somewhat surprised by the comments. Viewing the raw at 100% it's very sharp. Low ISO (200)so that's not an issue on detail retention. Light was very low late in the evening so the image was very warm and saturated. Here I show a full frame with absolutely nothing done to in in post (lower image) just converted in DPP and I'll also show a 2nd (upper one) where all I did was pull the sliders in a bit on each side 20 & 240. OP was just a slight crop, S curve, and a bit of vibrance 15 and standard smrt sharpening? Looks really good on my monitor?

    Hi Dale ,
at first i like to say this is lovely image and the content is priceless good for me .
Love the two cubs and the mum ... checking you out ... at least she does look like .

Comp works for me , as colors are sometimes subjective ... i am ok in general with them might just ton down the yellows / oranges a fraction in DPP but keep the blues .
Depending on the used picture style .... i would never push the black and white point that far in any raw converter ... by pushing the black point to 20 you will loose detail in the darker parts , like you did here , likewise the white point .

The OP does look over sharpened / crunchy to me and you lost some of the fine nice detail that is visible in the other two versions .Just my take , Dale .

Nevertheless a good image, worth to rethink .

    TFS Andreas

I prefer the later images Robert, also, what I assumed to be mosquitoes over the water seemed to have almost disappeared. Somewhere around midway between the two I would suggest would be perfect.

This is a super cute scene - love the cubs in the water and the little surf breaker in front really adds for me.
I prefer the middle shot when it comes to contrast and tonality - the smoother water look helps the bears pop too compared to the OP. All just different takes on it, Dale, every person sees things differently eh.
