Door to the unknown

Dear Friends,

I am no longer an OOTB moderator. As most of you know I am fortunate to travel quite a bit and that pulls me away from the computer. But more fundamentally, my Dad recently passed away. The very unsatisfactory and grueling hospital experience, along with his passing, has left my Mom, sister and me reeling with emotions. I will still post. As we all know, immersing oneself in beauty is very healing. Thank you all for participating in OOTB and I learned so much from you!

Sorry to hear about your Dad. It is always traumatic when a loved one passes, but it does seem that today's hospital environment only makes it harder.

I, too, think this image is perfect for your message of your father's death. The overall white is hopeful, the door opens a bit into the dark unknown. A lovely image. I like the various shades of white, the different colored shadows, the textures. Excellent work!
I am sorry that the hospital experience was difficult. I hope the companionship of your mother and sister, the beauty of your art, your travels and other help you heal.
