LAVENDER

The lavender field was on San Juan Island, Washington. The conditions were suboptimum for photography, bright midday sun, strong wind and family repeatedly inquiring if I was soon finished. I started with a vertical blur and applied Topaz Simplify BuzSim.

Hi, Gary, it's good to see you back in OOTB. When I saw the thumbnail I guessed you were in Provence I would probably crop some from the bottom so that there is just a sliver of green showing and I would remove the dark streak on the upper right edge just above the purple blooms. When does the lavendar bloom on San Juan Island? July, like Provence?

Cheryl, thanks for the look and suggestions. The base crop helps. The image was taken on June 29th.

I think the repost is an improved image. I love the colors. The blur gives me the feeling of energy and of needing to hurry up to keep the family happy. :-) The greenish gold at the top is like a crown--I suppose the midday sun helped here. It is a challenge to photograph with the family around!
