Nice looking portrait Joe. I like the details and colors in this hen along with the BG color. The eye is mesmerizing and captivating. Well done

    Joe:

    Excellent preening pose, eye.

Some color noise in the background on my monitor.

I might be tempted to try a version with the luminosity of the head toned down just a bit, perhaps 5% or so, seems a bit too bright to me.

    Cheers

Yes good preening pose, although I must admit that photographing preening birds from directly behind is not my favorite perspective. Nice details on the upturned feathers. The eye looks great.

    I like this.
Great details on the head and eye. Good DOF.
I can't decide if the head is a bit too bright or if the dark feathers at the bottom of the frame trick the eye into believing the head is too bright.
    Nice image and neat perspective,
    Gail
