Great catch for both of you Jon, nice wing position as well. Is this much of a crop? I like to frame loose for general shots, but when it's all about the action, as it is here, I think tight often works well.

You have caught this guy well. Bird is sharp and I like the prey item. Problem with terns in full sun is that you get lots of unwanted shadows. Have to hit them just perfectly to avoid that.

Isac mentioned about the shadows when shooting Terns in good light. He is very right. This one makes up for that deficiency with the size and species of the fish it's carrying, and the fact that we can see the eye clearly. Well done

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Mike I think the image was cropped down to 3900 - 4000 px at 3:2 ratio.

    Nice solid image.
Great look at the eye ( so hard to get it right when shooting terns!)
I like the way the gills of the fish are splayed open by the beak.
    IQ looks good,
    Gail
