    Default Eye-Level Bald Eagle

I had a great time with Alan Murphy in Alaska several years ago. This is one of my favorite images from the workshop. To get the frame I sat in the waist-deep icy water wearing insulated waders. I was lucky to get an eagle flying right at me as it grabbed one of the fish we threw in the water.

    Canon 1Dx, 300 mm f/2.8 @ f/5.6, 1/2500, ISO 1600, manual exposure, hand held

It never ceases to amaze me at some of the shots you guys have 'unseen' in your files - this would have had me displaying it at every available opportunity, it's utterly superb.

It has so many great elements, the low POV , the fish, the splash and the direct stare. Thats before we even get to the techs.

Just about perfect from my perspective

    Mike

A really interesting perspective on the wings here Doug. They always give a sense of their large size from this angle but somehow here they seem even huger (?) Do you do anything to keep the herring afloat?
