Trying to do corrections on the new laptop..........haven't been to succesful as when I looked at them on the desktop.......Axel was correct and some of the previous posts had some issues. Lets see if i fixed them. Canon Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800mm lens and the canon 1.4 tele at 1120mm at f8 and 1/2500 sec at ISO1250..............bright overcast early morning..............all mounted on wimberly head and tripod. Again...........I was working flight when this beach encounter took place.
As always........comments welcomed and appreciated.
PS Thanks again Freddy for the heads up on Nickerson!
Hey Roman,
Beautiful image, the shell and water drop are very nice. The red on the bill looks oversaturated and there is a halo around the head.
Thank you for your help on the landscaping forum.
Adams
Hi Adams...........didn't use SH.........only about 3 on H&S......very little sharpening.........will check on the desktop when I get a chance.
Everyone else...thanks!
Great moment captured. I also like the details and angle. I wish for a better head angle, the bill looks oversaturated and I see the mentioned sharpening halo around the head and also the pupil (the lighter yellow).
I really like this image, too!! I think it is even better than the earlier one! Nicely done! As I read through the posts, I was really pleased that there weren't a lot of comments about the head angle, but one did show up at the end. IMHO, there is Absolutely Nothing Wrong with the HEAD ANGLE!!! The shell and the water drops put this one over the top! Also, I'm not sure that it is a sharpening halo around the head. I think it is an optical illusion--the mach band effect.
You and Judy are killing me with this Oystercatcher pictures, I don't have a decent pic of this species. I am tempted to a trip to FL west coast just to get a chance to photograph this species.
I too think it's an excellent image Roman... But I too can see the halo... Fine white (or light) edge around the black of the head and neck and a little bit around the lower bill... the red bill is looking over saturated to me as well.
Having said that... I wish I had an image like this on my drive.
Wonder if looking at this on an LCD vs CRT makes a difference??? I have a NEC Diamondtron CRT.
