    Default Down in the Dust

    Attached Images Attached Images

Just before I leave on Sunday to host a photo safari in Mana Pools for 7 nights
This is from our recent family camping trip to northern Kruger.

A breeding herd of elephants descend into the Mphongolo riverbed at sunset, dusting themselves as they go.

A real Morkel special! I won't even go into the technical bit but the atmosphere and image content has your trademark all over it,such beautiful light just wish I had a better way with words to explain my thoughts on this excellent piece of work.

A real delight to view Morkel. The diagonal line the view follows really makes it and of course the contre jour light and dust. The lone bird is interesting too. Beautiful piece of photography all through although I am no expert judge like some.

Hi Morkel - Very nice light and the dust gives a great atmospheric feel to the image. Good separation between most of the elephants too takes this up a notch. This just works very well.

Hi Morkel -- This is fine piece of work . As mentioned by Keith , it has your signature style written all over it. The diagonal pattern in which they are moving along with all the kicked up dust and golden light makes this a fantastic image . And the bird is simply a bonus rather an interesting element in the frame . Great image .

    TFS !

Wish you a very successful trip and a safe journey !!

Hi Morkel lovely overall moody scene , love the lined up elephants and the kicked up dust .
The angle works well , likewise the overall tone and color .
I just might burn the branches on LHS .... to lower the presence of them .
Well seen and executed in the field , Morkel , nice work .

    TFS Andreas

    Hi Morkel,
Excellent image. It brings me back to Africa. There is nothing more to say than all what has been said above.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your trip to Mana Pools. Looking forward to the images you capture there.

Classic Erasmus animalscape - beautiful light used too its fullest and an interesting story being told. Theres something about the bird in the centre that just fits right as well. Top notch work - again!

An absolute feast for the eyes - just beautiful, wonderfully executed this gets my vote! Composition timing and the elephant coming into the scene - just brilliant.

Morkel ,you have a habit of making my jaw drop, once again this has been achieved. So much has already been covered i'd just be repeating what our friends have said,it's utterly stunning,I adore the way you make pictures mate,it's not the glamour of your subjects for a simple guy like me though ,it's the incredible way you use light and see the frame,I've said it before but it's so inspiring, thank you for sharing this

    take care

    Stu
