Default Portrait of the Cooper's hawk

Here is another frame of a handsome young Cooper's hawk I photographed in SoCal last week. I hope you like it

You certainly have your signature all over it. At 3200ISO it has a super IQ, the bird pops from the BG very nicely and all details are amazing. Love the one legged perching. Thanks, Arash, I do like it:).

Very lovely bird and the details on the hawk are exquisite. The only nit is the bright spots on the BG, which are just a wee bit competing with the bird. Loi

Spot on, lovely colours, virtually noise free, am I imagining things or are the colours ever so slightly different with the MkII - whatever they are excellent.

Killer bird, BKGR, and image. Love those long thin talons and the fluffed feathers. Lightening the iris a bit would be an option...

Hi Dzung, welcome to BPN! It is an awesome photo isn't it! Please do let us know what you like about it - we try to be more than a "great shot" commenting community.

Arash, I love it. I agree with Artie about lightening the iris, but everything else is super. I love the perch and the vertical composition.

thanks everyone, BTW I think iris is darker for juvenile coops, in older birds it turns yellow and red

Arash, nice shot of a juvenile coopers hawk but not a portrait. For future reference a portrait is depicting only the face or head and shoulders.
I would have preferred to see both eyes or a little more of a side view of the head. Nice and sharp though with a super BG.

Thanks Tim I should have said a "full length" portrait that includes the whole bird.
