I rowed all around this lake in northern MN last weekend looking for Common Loons, I finally found them, but by then it was well after sunset, so I had to go for silhouette and back lit images. Here is one of my favorites from the evening. &Dll, 100-4000ll at 371 mm, 1/200 ss, f7.1, 1600 iso

What a great pose! I like how you can just catch the eye on the bird on the right and just enough details on the neck. Love the soft colors in the BG.

Not half bad for a late shot. I like the environment and the poses with the chick in the center and the catch in the eye dose add to the image. Nice work

Different and interesting. The poses and hint of light on the one bird make it. So nice to be able to shoot in a such a variety of light.

I like this image, Mike. It tells a nice story for the viewer. You could almost say the adults are looking at each other all proud of their youngster!
