The vibrant colors of the bacteria mats and pool at Grand Prismatic in Yellowstone. The former social trail to get an image from above is closed while the Park Service formalizes the trail and builds a viewing platform. As a result, I had to try to capture the amazing colors from the boardwalk along the edge and through the steam.

Hi Rachel, beautiful! I like the layering of the color and the complementary colors here. The reflection of the trees on the reddish part adds complexity to the image.

I am glad to hear that they are making a raised up viewing platform to view the pool. I took my grand prismatic shot from that social trail up. It didn't feel kosher to climb up that hill but oh well!

    Thanks for sharing!

I keep coming back to this, have you thought of printing this, Rachel? I don't know why but Fuji Pearl comes to my mind right away.

Thanks again Adhika. Haven't decided what to print from my recent trip yet.

    Hey Rache,

While I love the colors the textured layers do not work for me... Back in a minute.

YAW. Agree. When you see those layers of color, think pleasing blurs :)

Wonderful, vibrant rainbow colors. Both versions work for me, but Art's version is the more pleasing.

Nice colours here Rachel - a natural phenom I would like to see in person one day.
I quite like what Artie did! You could of course achieve that in-camera next time when you are there by using a slow shutter and panning left to right eh
