    Default Tousled feathers....

    Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher (Female Bird)
    Alibag, Maharashtra,
    Sep 2014.

    Here is the Gorgeous bird with her feathers on the head is tousled while preening…. She looks so elegant and beautiful while having bath in front of us. While having bath in between she make an hunt of tadpole and eat it……. I love this collection of image and Have series of images of her while preening and getting off that water out of her feathers….
    while shooting at this place we wait for 4 hr for this bird to come there, after bird came , i am too overwhelm
    by the sighting, i forgot to bump my iso and get shutter speed well ....

    Canon 1 Dx,
    Canon 500+1.4 TC,
    f/8,
    ISO-1600 ,
    SS 1/50 ……

    You must have been incredibly close to this one. I can see all the area in the eye....awesome detail and colors, even in the structure of the beak. Thanks for sharing this beauty.

    Yes Lorant ..... The bird is close ... Approx 15 to 20 feet from us .... We wait for this bird for 3 to 4 hours for this bird. In that time we face heavy rains and in very humid temperature but finally she came to her favourite Parch and stay there for 20 to 25 min ....... She take bath and in between she hunt also she give us bag full images around four 32 GB cards are full ......
    That was one of the best memories I have of ODKF sightings till date .......

    Worth the waiting for sure...and I know it gave you a lot of energy and happiness to be able to photograph it. Thank you for sharing and please post more frames.

    Beautiful bird, great colors, nice detail, a little banding and splotchiness in the BG but I know how hard that is to eliminate, nice shot overall.

    Ritesh you have some superb feather detail and the bird looks pin sharp,even the white feathers look spot on,wonderful colours.
