A bowling ball with eyes! I love the roundness of the pose, and of course the stare. Good perch and BG. The IQ seems lacking a bit here, with coarse details and some noise in some areas of the plumage. Still a high impact image that gave me a chuckle :-)

love the curious pose and the NG, not to mention the pretty perch with a topping of moss. IQ is unfortunately lacking as Dan mentioned above, was this a huge crop?

This is one heck of a frame. The perch and BG are terrific, as is the pose and stare down. Please help us determine why the IQ looks off.

Great frame, perch, BG, light. Did you shoot at f4? You had plenty of details here, so not sure what you mean by "huge" crop? My suspicion is the image is not critically sharp. Could you post a 100% crop? You were shooting at 1/250 and F4, 300mm, so I assume you were pretty close to the bird. My experience is that when I have a sharp frame, the IQ would stand up even if it a "huge" crop say 33% of FF. If I can get 6 Mpixels on a subject and the image is sharp, it should be good at this size. Loi

I have the origanal raw file somewere ,but as you say if the shot is not critcaly sharp then the large crop is not going to help

    Dear Dennis,

The curios pose and beautiful popping eyes really makes this a fab .image.

It was the subject eyes which caught my attention at once . Composition and PP is just fine . But have to agree with others on the I.Q which is affected by the given reason.
Though , I can understand the common situation when we have to keep some special images and crop is the only way left to present it in the best manner.

    Thanks for sharing .

    Regards
    Saurabh

1Iagree with the above comment indeed.
Might not be a comp winner but it has more good bits than a a alot I have. I am sure the effective IQ could be tweaked by the many out there so well versed in such matters.

Wonderful, special pose. Hope you can find a way to sharpen it up.
