    Default Lone Zambezi Stroller

A photo I took while hosting a photographic safari to Mana Pools in 2014. We were exploring the floodplains on the banks of the Zambezi river on foot when this bull came towards us.
I am heading back there soon and can't wait.

I couldn't help but think of Andre Pretorius when processing this one. He had been to Mana many years before and longed to return someday. Rest in peace, my friend!

Superb framing Morkel, we have the mountain BG, tree trunk and above foliage and the attention of this grand bull, all coming together nicely in great lighting cond's.

Like it as is, and a fitting tribute to Andreas.

    TFS

There are many images that spring to mind when thinking of Africa and Andre but I cannot think of a finer or more befitting one. Super work the image is excellent.

I see it now Rachel - processed last night but did VERY little to this. Not sure where it would have come in.
Will play around again tonight, thanks for pointing it out.

Morkel there is lots of interest in this image with the water and the mountains in the bg,like the way the Elephant is coming around the tree with it's overhead branches, scene captured beautifully.

Hi Morkel thank you for sharing this in context with Andre passed away ,
stories he told me about his time there ... in Mana Pools ... i remember asking him if he would like to take me there , he said yes when the time is right .
Sadly this will be no longer possible ...
But i will keep his story about an elephant chasing him and his friends around the camp in my mind .

Nice framing and a great low POV .....

    Thanks again , Andreas

Andreas, I've a good mind to organise a BPN trip up to Mana.
Perhaps next year if my time allows it. Will be in touch!
