Hi Jon, love everything (albeit, I still think about 3/4 inch could be lost at the top
), especially the fanning of the wings. The overall colour palette works well and the soft muted BKG, the compression works and no need of any blur or NR, especially at ISO4000, good to see you pushing your comfort zone.

Nice one Jon, I love the raised wing. Great looking perch and BG as well.

In what could have been a relatively drab subject you've managed to get a lot of subtle but lovely tone variation into this little fellow Jonathon---and they tie in nicely with the colours of the perch with the green BG bringing in nice contrast to liven things up. The double catchlight is really sharp, as are the claws. Nice of him/her to come in so close that you didn't even have to zoom all the way in.

I like this image and the vertical presentation. At first I thought the bird may be feeding young but realize the tree isn't large enough. I would crop from either the top or bottom just a little...although I do like the curled bark at the bottom.

Why Auto ISO speed on

Great timing! Wonderful detail in the wing. Love the perch but concur with Steve about a little off the top.

Will I use Auto ISO so much because I am more concerned about exposure i.e. shutter speed and aperture, than ISO, it is of little significance to me if the image is captured at ISO 100-400 or 400-1600 or 1600 -32000 becasue the result will be good. If I particularly want absolute optimum then I would also use a lower shutter speed but that would often result a lees than pin sharp image. I hasten to add I have adopted this stance since I had a 1DX and not prior.
