processing highlights
- The single shot was bracketed plus and minus two EV in Adobe Camera Raw, and -- along with the original -- converted to an HDR.
- Strong highlights and shadows from side-lighting emphasized the texture. Two Threshold adjustment layers with different values and masks (not inverses) were used to exaggerate the texture contrast.
- Belle Fleur texture -- masked, Subtract blend mode
- Flypaper texture -- Darker Color (same texture was applied later to the border with the same blend mode)
- Topaz Glow -- three saved black-on-white presets; Multiply, Divide, Multiply
- The Glow preset that had been applied with Divide blend mode was manipulated in Glow to achieve color on white and applied with Divide blend mode.
- Alien Skin Snap Art -- saved black-on-white edges preset converted to dark brown on white, Multiply
- Topaz Simplify -- saved black-on-white edges preset, Multiply
