Default The stalkings were hung . . .

These were natural corn stalks tied to a post along a small main street for decoration last October.

    processing highlights
    • The single shot was bracketed plus and minus two EV in Adobe Camera Raw, and -- along with the original -- converted to an HDR.
    • Strong highlights and shadows from side-lighting emphasized the texture. Two Threshold adjustment layers with different values and masks (not inverses) were used to exaggerate the texture contrast.
    • Belle Fleur texture -- masked, Subtract blend mode
    • Flypaper texture -- Darker Color (same texture was applied later to the border with the same blend mode)
    • Topaz Glow -- three saved black-on-white presets; Multiply, Divide, Multiply
    • The Glow preset that had been applied with Divide blend mode was manipulated in Glow to achieve color on white and applied with Divide blend mode.
    • Alien Skin Snap Art -- saved black-on-white edges preset converted to dark brown on white, Multiply
    • Topaz Simplify -- saved black-on-white edges preset, Multiply
    • gradient vignette

Dennis, this is a great abstract, graphic image! I like the diagonals and the curves and all of the interesting shapes which turn into interesting objects when you stare at them Really, the more I look at it the more I like it! (Plus the title is a hoot!)

I'd missed that until I read your comment, but sure enough.
