I really had to balance myself to ensure I didnt cut anything off, as this was full frame shot from my car. This Reed Cormorant was doing the usual drying of his wings, and I knew I didnt have time to take off my TC, so I managed a few shots before he closed his wings. I feel this shot displays all the feather detail this fellow has, including his curled tail. Taken in Cape Town at one of the various wetlands in the early morning. The BG is a very distant mountain.

The feather detail on this image is awesome Stu. Even though the HA is not the best, I personally think, it don't matter so much, as the feather detail being shown is the main item. The visible eye showing a glimpse of red looks real good.
very nice Stu,good detail, love the red eye,I know the head angle is not the best but he or shestill as his or her eye on you,if you look at the head.TFS.
Stu sometimes i get a bit bored with pristine birds ,this one does not fit into that category, head bit covered but all that feather detail makes up for that.I do like this.
