I think Rachel you'll recognise the Leopard, however I must admit, our trip was certainly more productive on this species than my current one, so fingers crossed for you later on. This Leopard was a young male that was current 'grooming' when suddenly something could his attention. I could remove the green blade of grass, but it won't make much difference, as the focus IMHO is in the face.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Hi Steve - Yup, I recognize that leopard. This works very well. The grass stem doesn't bother me and I like that we can see the convex shape of the eye. Good detail and sharpness.

Nicely framed with a good "golden mean" flow through the image, Steve.
I might look at brightening it overall a tad?

Hi Steve this is as usual a high standard image from the PP work POV ... right DOF and lovely color and tonal range .
The BG is also very pleasing kept soft and low in contrast for a nice separation .... but sadly from aesthetic POV it is not that attractive to me .. the crop or the way you shot is not grabbing me ... sorry Steve

Thanks, folk, and certainly I for one would agree, not an 'Earth' shattering image, but what I do like is what Rachel had picked up on - the convex shape in the eye.

but sadly from aesthetic POV it is not that attractive to me .. the crop or the way you shot is not grabbing me ... sorry Steve
I have no problem Andreas, we all see things differently, I just felt the portrait format was stronger as it provided more focus on the face than perhaps Landscape. Sadly not having a frame in that format we have nothing to compare too.

I think the goal of nature photography is to show what we photograph as in real life how we saw it when the shutter clicked. This image captures that, the fur looks so real. Beautiful cat, a treasure... thank you for sharing, Steve.

Hi Steve -- A very nice image when it comes to IQ and details. Initially it didn't grab me but after seeing it a couple of times I developed a liking for it .

    TFS !
