    A rare moment, to get both birds in the same image banded.. The bands were probably placed by Russian biologists on Wrangell Is. during the nesting season.5DIII, EF 400 f/4 DO IS,ISO640, f/6.7, 1?1500, HH

    The backlighting works well for me here. Good dual poses, just a bit of bad luck with the bill touching the tail feather though. IMO you could darken the image a bit for added dramatic lighting and translucence on the feathers. I'd also prefer a bit more room at right. I'm liking that you have subtle clouds in the sky to break the whites back there.

    Like to see a bit more on the right but that apart I do think the the fact they are both showing very well together, and your exposure on the birds makes for a real good image.

    Thanks for the input fellows. I did wrestle with darkening a bit Daniel but didn't want to lose too much of the ripple effect on the breast feathers into shadow.---and sure and you're sharp eyed on the overlap---I can only justify it as what one of my law professors used to refer to as "deminimus".
