    Bog Pimpernel(Anagallis tenella)
    Probably one of the most difficult flowers I,ve done for some reason.
    Kept gertting just one OOF plane in the series. Wierd.
    Did some with BG leaves left in focus. Can't decide which is the better.
    Worth noting that the flowers are ony 3 mm across.
    D7100
    Sigma 50mm macro
    9 Stacked images. Combine ZM
    Slight crop. 30th sec @f5- 120 ISO

    I feel like we are in the bog, so that's a good thing. As I have suggested in a few critiques today, taking over from the software to retouch layers that you like into the background helps you take control of the background. The stacking software has one goal, to render everything in focus, but sometimes it has no esthetic sense and you need to take over.
    The right-most leaves in focus may not be the best because of that thing about leading attention out of the frame....

    I agree with you all the way Ron, and thats what I am starting to play with at the moment.
    Sometimes I need the botanical detail- sometimes I don,t As you say- it can be controlled.
