This was my last visit this year to shoot the Peregrines most of which have dispersed. Dave Salem and I sat on the bluff for about an hour capturing this immature male peregrine which was the best looking of the four that fledged. Dave was a little infront of me at minimum focal range. This was my favorite frame. Thanks always for looking and commenting. Nikon D5, 600mm E Fl lens hand held, 1/250 sec, ISO 800, F 5.6

Amazing image quality on this picture. I feel like I can feel how soft those fluffy breast feathers are. The d5 and the 600 shine in this shot. Really is nothing to not like for me. Super details. Great background. I love the orange lichen on the rock.

    Glen:

Outstanding image, soft light, great catchlight, interesting perch (lichens), background and head angle.

You certainly couldn't ask for better IQ, but I def. would have traded a little ISO with the D5 for higher shutter speed since handholding. You must have been bracing on something I would assume?

    Well done.

    Cheers

We sure had a good eyaes peregrine season this year. You a bit more than me, but it was deffinity a good one. This guy was the most handsome of the bunch and even though we didn't have a ton of action the last day we sure got some great portraits of this beautiful tiercel(male).
The pose, details, perch and BG are all perfect!! To bad it's over, now what are we going to shoot?

The yellow moss (or whatever) on the perch compliments the colors of the bird really well. IQ is outstanding, the distant ocean BG is great. TFS. Loi

Handsome youngster, with great head turn. I like the lichen on the rock, and the ocean bg. Well done! 600 hand-held at 1/250? Impressive (or did you skip a 0? )
