    Default Bluebird missle

I photographed this Eastern Bluebird at Negri-Nepote Grasslands in New Jersey. Head angle is not perfect as it turned slightly away from me at the last moment but I still think it works.

Canon 7d2 and Canon 500 f4 ii + 1.4x iii. Tripod mounted at eye level. F7.1, ISO 640, SS 1/3200.

Converted in DPP 4. Auto white balance. In PS I cropped, applied noise reduction to background and sharpened. Also lowered the saturation of the blues as per Arties last critique of my Bunting.

very nice Issac, it's a dynamic pose with a neat BG, I like the retracted feet! HA here works for me since it is almost parallel to the back of the camera with the eye perfectly circular and the catch light in the right spot

Wow, good timing. It does look like a missile to me. No problem with the head angle. The bird isn't looking at you, but that would be a different picture. Here the bird just focused on going where it wanted to go. Arash's analysis of the round eye is illuminating. Nice colors. Loi

    Isaac:

I like the "launch" pose as well, framed nicely to work the diagonal axis, so adds to the sense of action.

The head angle isn't distracting to me.

    Cheers

What a great capture! I really like this one and the colors and details look awesome. The green BG showcases the bird well and I love the tucked in feet. Very nice

A missile indeed. Wings and feet tucked in add interest, excellent techs, lovely background. Thank you for sharing, Isaac.
