Default Crowned Lapwing in late light

Ive been extremely busy at work, thus my absence, but will try and catch up as best I can. Whilst walking my two dogs, there are a number of these Crowned Lapwings who have their nests tucked away in the grasslands where we walk. This fellow didnt enjoy the dogs running around in their territory, thus the noisy pose. If they feel they are really threatened, they will take off, and dive bomb who ever is a threat. Taken in late afternoon light.

Gorgeous Stu, love the 'calling' posture and slight head turn. Wonder about moving the whole crop down a fraction???

    Nice processing.

This is superb Stu, awesome BG and the subject stands out beautifully.

Love the calling pose and open beak with tongue visible. Nice detail and sharpness on the bird - so well processed!
I also like the colours, framing, as well as composition - mmm...I like everything

Thank you so much for sharing, appreciate it!

    Stu:

He certainly seems a bit peeved! Nice techs. I think a small crop from the top would make him look even more imperious. This may be what Steve was suggesting as well.

    Lovely colors, harmony.

    Cheers

That late afternoon light is just killer Stu and I really like the colors and details in this. I like how the legs stand out in the grass and the smooth mottled BG showcases him well. Nice work Stu

It's a beauty Stu I like it very much, the pose is great, personally I would have cropped a little more.
