    Default Osprey Dive

One of my favorite raptors to photograph and one of the most challenging.
I read they can reach speeds up to 80 mph in a dive, they're just amazing to watch.

    Thanks for looking.

Perfect timing Tim! A challenging subject to be sure, and you did a great job of tracking the bird in its dive. It was good seeing you last week; thanks for the early Xmas present!

excellent Tim, dynamic frame with sharp details showing the peak of action. I only wish the sun was a bit lower in the sky but love those talons

nice action Tim,good detail, the only thing I don't like is the membrane over the eye,I know it comes over to protect the eye when hitting the water, but it makes it look weird sorry.but a nice image other wise.TFS.

Hi Tim, Well timed, and not easy tracking a diving subject. Love the show of the talons and the intense concentration on the face, even though the nictitating membrane is showing. Would love to see the frame as the Osprey hits the water.

Awesome frame Tim!! Talk about the right millisecond. Literally an inch from the water! The extended legs and feet and the closed nictitating membrane really make this one for me. Ya, I wish the shadow wasn't there but I have shot at this location many times and I know that the action doesn't usually happen until mid day.
I just looked at all my diving shots and most of them have the shadow in almost the same place. Well done
