This family was imaged several weeks ago in northern Michigan. The chicks were quite feisty and always competing to get the best seat on the bus.
Occasionally there were episodes where one chick would push the other one off, like this one.

D500 600VR f/7.1 1/1600s ISO 400 . Camera mounted on pedestal in the bottom of my little boat, "LoonieToo"

Post: modest crop for comp. Selective sharpening. Cleaned up lower catchlight in adults pupil.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Cheers

Perfect moment captured so well, Randy. Great detail and like the subtle quality in the blacks.

Hi Randy, what a fun image with youngster falling off, and with both parent and the other chick 'not noticing' anything wrong. Your usual exposure spot on on the parent's head, and I do like the blues in the water.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your input. I hope to revisit them in a few weeks. There has been concern that one of the chicks of this pair hasn't survived, so will checking in with them ASAP.

Talk about the decisive moment!! Wonderful in every way -- BG, sharpness, color -- all there.
