    Here is another one of the Purple Gallinules from yesterday morning. This one is going for the blossoms. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 290mm (435mm FFE)
    1/500 F/5.6 Matrix Metering +1/3 EV ISO 450, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, canvas added to the left side of the frame to bring the blossom more inside the frame
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    I love the pose of the Gallinule in this one, Joe, and the way he's focused on the blossoms. That such an important part of the story/comp is OOF is sort of troublesome.

    Very nice. The head looking at the flowers was a bit unlucky. The legs and feet are spectacular. You did some sloppy Photoshop work mid-frame on the left. I like the stalk coming in from the corner.

    Don't you hate it when you get too greedy with a zoom lens???

    Indeed awesome how the legs grab the reed. I'd prefer a little head turn towards us and for sure there is some clean up to do at the center area. TFS.
